This morning, the MEP approved the legislation on copyright.
And I must be honest that this scares me, it scares me a lot.
The last text, in particular article 11 and especially the text 13, were too vague and many interpretations could be corrected.
In fact, citations, parodies and re-elaborations, such as fanfic, fanart and fancomic, could be considered violations of copyright.
They say that the text has been modified but until I can’t read it I don’t know what to think.
At the moment I’m continuing to resume a gajevy fancomic started about a year and a half ago and that I had to pause because of my studies and my thesis. I started again in June, but when I knew of this legislation, I slow down because I didn’t know if was appropriate or not to continue.
The last thing I want is to have legal issues for something I've drawn.
At the same time I don’t want to abandon a job so long (52 pages are based on the fanfiction of my dear friend @maxbarbie) and on the internet I found various news on how the voting takes place at European level (things that school didn’t teach but should) .
According to the information found this is the second vote of the Trilogue meetings (the first was against) and the third will be in spring 2019.
So....I decide to continue the work and I will try to finish it before that date.
In the meantime I will try to start my long-term personal projects as well and hope that the things will be fine...
