NGC 4609, C98 // Vivek Bannore
This open cluster lies about 4,500 light years away in the constellation of Crux, the Southern Cross. It was discovered in 1826 by Scottish astronomer James Dunlop (1793-1848). This is an intermediate age cluster, clocking in at about 83 million years old. It is not very populous, consisting of only about 33 member stars.
