“Thanks.“ Hunter ambles into the apartment when Sera lets him in, one hand braced on the wall while he hooks his fingers into his sneakers and tugs them off, scattering them haphazard in the entryway. “Sure you’re not busy?” And when he pulls his palm from the wall there’s a faint smear of blood. He can taste it in his mouth too--metallic and lingering where his teeth cut into the soft skin of his right cheek. “I’ll clean that up before I leave.“

He always makes a fucking mess. He’s lucky Sera’s got a soft enough spot for him to help with clean up.

“Just need you to check the back of my head. I think they got me there.“

sera. the only name, the only person, the only soul alex was linked to for the rest of her life, the only thought on her mind, and the only dream of her soul, of her heart. the raven haired girl would never leave alex’s thoughts, but now... alex was desperate to get to the girl because of the thoughts that crossed her mind since august let her know about what happened. there was too many risks - how, how could sera risk her life like that? didn’t she know she was alexandria’s anchor? if she died, the redhead would have a fate even worse than death. as soon as she got to august’s loft, she stormed inside, not even looking at the faces around her. the only person her green eyes could see, the only person that mattered was seraphina, who was lying on the couch, looking pale and sallow. what if alex was too late? what if there was no way to save her other half now?

she didn’t hesitate, even for a second. running to the room she was in, alex let herself sit beside her parabatai, holding her hands. “sera?” the name left her mouth as if it was the most holy thing that honoured her lips. the ginger’s fingers stroked her parabatai’s hair as her left hand held her pale face as gently as possible. she knew sera wasn’t a person who needed to be held gently - sera was tough. but right now... she seemed so breakable, so hurt, and that teared alex’s heart apart. “please...” she whispered, trying to find a way to wake her up. slowly, her whispers became louder, and tears ran down her red cheeks as she started to beg. “please come back!” heart wrenching sobs escaped the girl’s lips, as she kept stroking the other’s hair. “please! sera, i - i need you, please.”

alex didn’t even care about what happened in the party. she didn’t care if sera hated her now. she just needed her in her life. she needed sera, even if she loved her, or if she hated her. after pressing her lips to her parabatai’s forehead gently, she wrapped her arms around the girl, never wanting to let go. “i’m here, sera. i’m here. come back to me.”
