This is from an old post-canon Jean/Mikasa fic I was writing. They're having some political discussion about offing Eren iirc. It's exploring how Mikasa coped with the events of the finale and how she ended up with Jean, because I'm a big believer than her "loving Eren more" doesn't mean she and Jean can't still be a good pair. They can still support each other and become close, regardless of if they're each other's "soulmate" or whatever. Because I also believe Jean is still hung up on Marco lol. It was good, but neither Mikasa nor Jean are particular favourites of mine, so I'm unlikely to ever return to it now my aot phase is over.

It's post-canon/post-Rumbling. From what I remember ;

[Jean comes back for Mikasa and they end up together, but eventually break up. Jean has to let go and leaves (I think back to marley or somehere?).

After that, there's a scene where Mikasa is crying under the tree and says something along the lines of, "He (Jean) left me too."

Then later, Mikasa goes looking for Jean at his small rented house/apartment while it's raining, I think there was also an older man who owned the place Jean was renting. They reconcile there and I'm pretty sure they sleep together.

I also vaguely remember a shower scene around that part of the story, but I can't remember if it was Jean or Mikasa. ]

That's literally all I remember. Does anyone know the title? Help meeee 🙏
