This job will be the death of me ;; Daniel & Irma
Hunkered down on his cot after a long day of outdoor-ish festivities and babysitting the supernatural twenty-somethings, Danny was dozing on top of his unrolled sleeping bag. He had almost drifted off into unconsciousness when the first roll of thunder echoed across the campsite. Then another. And another yet. "...The fuck?" Danny grumbled. This wasn't the weather they were told to plan for. He moved to get up when a blinding light and deafening crack split through the air.
Suddenly he was on the ground and—oh good fucking God, where did that headache come from? And why was the tent spinning? Sure, he'd been drinking, but he knew his limits, and he hadn't had nearly enough to get him this fucked up. That's when he noticed it—the fucking dead weight pinning him to the ground.
"Oh," Danny's eyes grew wide in disbelief as he registered the large oak tree on top of him, and the sharp protruding branch now embedded firmly in his abdomen. "I've been impaled."
