The last thing Kate remembered was laughing and joking around with Viola on the streets, sliding around, throwing snow. They had been headed to the high school as instructed. When she opened her eyes, adjusting to the harsh lighting, looking around to see she was in a hospital bed. The beeping of a monitor steady and it began ringing in her ears. Her head pounded, she remembered calling an ambulance, sitting up quickly, the quickness of her movements causing her to feel nauseous, she breathed in slowly. Viola had fallen first, someone came obviously. She was okay, Viola must've been okay too. At least that's what she was telling herself.
Throwing her legs over the hospital bed, she sat still, steadying herself on autopilot she walked over to the chair expecting to find her purse. It wasn't there. She looked all over the room, nothing. Well this was just great, she didn't have her phone, it was probably buried in the snow by now. Thinking back to the first time something like this had happened, the sight of blood streaming out of a strangers head after an altercation in the street, causing her to faint, hitting her head. She wasn't unfamiliar with concussions, last time she was so hoped up on pain killers she felt like flying. The hospital not unfamiliar to her, this throbbing headache would pass. She heard the wind outside the window, her heart rate quickened as she thought of the reason they were heading to the school in the first place. Where were her friends? Rose, oh god Rose. She was fine, they were fine. All at the school. She breathed in deep, she was going to find Viola, she was here, and she would be fine too.
