Unlike the Skaikru, Mounde and even some of the Trikru, Heathcliff knew the forest like he knew the back of his hand and it didn’t take him long to realise something was off today. The wildlife was acting strange. The few animals he had spotted were alarmed by something other than him. What could be worse than a human with a weapon to them?

Heathcliff kneeled on the ground, touching the dirt underneath him. Yet again he had found animalistic foot prints. Yet again they were pointing in the same direction. It almost seemed like the animals were fleeing from something.

Reflexively, the Trikru drew his weapon as he heard a noise behind him. His eyes moved quickly through the woods, before settling on the person. Even if they had been stumping through the forest, they wouldn’t have scared everything alive away.

“Something’s wrong.” Heathcliff said. “Something’s going to happen.”
