Another nightmare.
Pyper hadn’t had a nightmare since she’d been sick but now they’d returned, much to her dismay. She pushed her hands through her hair as she sat up, biting down on her nails in anxiety. She decided that nothing good was going to come out of sitting around, thinking of what she’d dreamed, so instead she stood and walked to the lake, taking a seat on the ground and looking up at the sky, watching the sunrise in silence as she fought away the tears that threatened to spill down her cheeks.
There was something oddly calming at hunting in the night. The silence left room for thoughts and Heathcliff was usually lucky enough to not run into someone. Unlike today. The lake was his last destination before returning to camp and of course there she had to be; a Sky Girl. Automatically his hand moved to his weapon, but dropped again when he noticed her bent posture. She wasn’t in for a fight or prepared for someone to jump at her, and for once he wasn’t in the mood to do so either. Quietly he lowered himself onto the ground, only a few feet away from her. His eyes were set on hers and a frown appeared on his face as soon as he saw the hint of upcoming tears. “You should set it on fire.” He said. Eyeing her for a moment he decided she was safe and he moved closer to the lake to clean blood off his hands and weapon. “Whatever ‘it’ is that hurts you. Burn it! Anger’s less painful than sadness.”
