Tessa hadn’t thought twice before offering herself to help Rue move into her new place. She owned an old truck, rarely used it as she much preferred her bike, but figured it would definitely come useful in this case. She also didn’t hide the fact that she was undeniably proud of what this meant for Rue but she didn’t comment to much on it, she had just congratulated her and offered the help she was now providing.
It had taken them a few flights up and down the stairs to get all of her stuff into the small studio Rue had gotten, her legs were tired, there was the faintest layer of sweat covering her forehead. Tessa runs her sleeve over her forehead while Rue speaks, offering a soft-hearted smile. “You know you don’t need to thank me. Not for anything at all.” She says and takes one step closer towards Rue, hand reaching out to grab hers and give her a soft squeeze, almost a reassuring touch.
“I know I already told you I’m really proud of you, but I want you to remind that.” She says as the grin on her lips grows wider. “I know it’s scary, I remember the first time I moved out on my own, I lived off junk food, I forgot to pay my bills more than once, and my tenant was a very awful old lady.” She recalls and laughs, letting go of Rue’s hands.
