Le Scandal | Margot
The streets of Coney Island were in full summer bloom. Wendy always loved the weekends after Memorial Day but before Labor Day. It always seemed crowded with regulars and tourists. Everything felt alive again. With only thirty minutes until the start of the show, she stood outside the theater wrapped in a light silk robe and slippers that matched. While the other woman hadn’t texted her yet to let her know she was outside, Wendy wanted to make sure that she didn’t miss her. Sometimes the dressing area got overwhelmed with pre-show shenanigans that it would almost be impossible to hear a phone ring. Wendy smiled at each passerby, hoping to coax them into the show. Larger audiences were always better for nights like this. Their energy was fuel for the performers.
