“Exactly. Like I was stuck on the train the other day and everyone was pissed. Total gripe fest. But this little girl, she had her dolls and was having the time of her life so obviously I had to join her. Next thing I know, there were like five of us playing make believe on the train.”

Everyone deserves to feel a little bit of confidence a lot of the time.” Kennedy spoke, her words soft and effortless as they fell from her lips. “I like to make people feel beautiful, at work and in life. I’d like to be known as the girl who was always bringing people up even when she was down.”

“Wow, that was so myspace of you. But I get that. I mean, we live in such a shitty place right now. Making people feel good about anything is honestly one of the best feelings. Almost magic, really.”

“Garlic pasta isn’t exactly the legacy you were looking for, Wen?” Kennedy couldn’t help but laugh, a smile plastered on her face. “I will most definitely remember you for your beauty. Your smile could write a folk tale, passed on for generations.”

“Mmm yes, feed my ego. I love it.” Wendy faintly blushed as she continued to smile. “All jokes aside, I probably want to be remembered for bringing joy to people even if it’s just for a little bit, you know? Even if it’s just them seeing my show and being like wow.”

Kennedy perched herself upright on the barstool, a smile appearing on her face. “How do you want to be remember, in that case?”

Wendy gently placed her hand on the other girls and smiled. “I’d love to but I’m doing you a favor by not. I just ate a huge bowl of garlic pasta. And I’m pretty sure there was anchovies involved so my breath rank.”

Kennedy rolled her eyes, lacing her fingers in between Wendy’s. “Now it just sounds like you’re making excuses. I’ll just keep my kisses to myself, stinky.” She chuckled a bit, leaning a bit into the woman beside her.

I’ve been avoiding it for a while now but I think the time has come to get a hair cut. I put it off for so long after my last cut didn’t go great. I was walking around in my yankees cap so long you’d think they were paying me.

"I still don't understand the point of The Real Housewives." Aiden lightly complains as he glances up at the bar television. Why it was on that channel, he had no idea, but it was alright for some background noise. "I mean, I know I don't watch this show at all, but from what I can tell, they don't do anything like a real housewife. They don't cook or clean and all they do is drink wine, have catty arguments, and get dolled up. The only housewife thing half of them do, is seemingly, not get a job."

“I mean, to each their own right? Like if you have it made to love like that I don’t see why you shouldn’t exploit yourself. I mean, I exploit myself at my job every day.”

“I’d say that I asked you first.” Kennedy smirked. She couldn’t help but appreciate when people were open to her boisterous personality. “Thank you,” She smiled in the blonde girl’s direction, placing a suggestive hand on her knee. “I think this energy deserves a smooch.”

“If I dared you to kiss me right now, what would you say?” The small girl asked, batting her long eyelashes at the person opposite her. She was free spirited, constantly pushing boundaries wherever she saw fit. Kennedy swore that her life’s purpose was bringing people out of their comfort zones. Teasing and being bubbly was just in her nature. “No pressure.”

“ welcome to sprinkles! what can i get for you?” spencer greeted the following guest. she’d been stuck on the register for about ten minutes now. her cashier was late due to personal reasons, though she really didn’t mind running the front of the house herself. afterall the shop was her baby. “ would you like to try our new flavor of the month; it’s banana chocolate chip pancake.” she offered a small sample of the cupcake.

“A free sample? Sign me up.” Wendy politely took the sample. As she chewed the little bit up, she couldn’t help but smile. “Wow, I’m not much of a banana person but this is delicious. Do you guys cater? I know plenty of freaks who’d enjoy some cupcakes.”

“I can’t believe my oldest kid will be 18 next week, and I’ll be dropping him off at college in less than a month,” said Sheridan, “It only seems like yesterday that Ethan was a little baby in my arms.”

“I always wondered what that was like. Carry a baby for nine months. Teach it all the life skills you can. Then finally set it free, into the wild so it could forget to return my calls and check in on major holidays if I’m lucky. Sounds sad.”

“It’s something, alright. And it isn’t for everyone, that’s for sure. And even though it seems bittersweet, I think Ethan’s ready. I’ll be crying once I leave his dorm building after helping him move in, and likely on the 8 hour drive back.”

“Uh, more like exhausting and too small to read,” Dominic said with a short laugh as he looked down at the papers in front of him. “I borrowed them from my boss for some extra uh, homework I guess, but honestly they’ve just been putting me to sleep and straining my eyes.”

“Homework? Yuck,” she replied as she pulled one of the papers close to her face, trying to understand what seemed like nonsense to her. “What is this stuff? It looks like a bunch of boxes with foreign language written all over it.”

Dominic, sat in his favourite both at the diner, had a cup of cold coffee on his left and a stack of blueprints on his right. He’d gone there hoping to get a better understanding of architecture and the industry, but all he learned was that he really liked cheap coffee. With a defeated sigh, Dominic rested his head on the papers spread in front of him and shut his eyes, if only for a few seconds. 

He wasn’t sure how much time had passed when he felt a hand on his shoulder, shaking him awake. Sitting up, Dominic rubber his eyes and looked up at the person. “Uh, sorry. Coffee’s a little weak.”

“Oh cool,” she mused. “I just wanted to make sure you weren’t like dead or something. That would really free everyone one out.” Wendy eyed the papers on his table before sliding into the booth. “What are ya working on? This looks...fun? Boring? Complicated? I’m not sure. I’m Wendy.”

Fabien finished making a cocktail and handed it to the customer who had ordered it. Then he glanced around for the next person waiting to order a drink. Spotting one, he said “What can I get you?” He hoped it wasn’t a frozen drink. Those were a pain in the ass to make, but they were always popular in the summer. Especially in the heatwave the city was currently experiencing.

Wendy stared down at her phone, waiting for some sort of message telling her she was in the right place. Her coworkers decided on a new bar since the one that they normally frequented was closed for renovations. The sound of the mans voice broke her thought. “Oh uh yeah. Do you guys have any of those hard seltzer’s? Not to be difficult or anything. I’m just not trying to get too fucked up and beer hurts my joints.”

“Alright Wendy,” Jack replied, a small smile tugging at her lips. “An honest answer, I appreciate that. It didn’t sound like a sales pitch, and you certainly seem like the kind of person I can trust. Thank you, I think I’ll head over there now, especially if you believe that I’ll be just as impressed as I was with your performance. Gosh, I haven’t been to one of these places since I was a kid, is it sad that I’m actually kind of excited?” She laughed at herself, taking a step back. “Do you perform in there too? Or just out here.”

“Eh what can I say. As much as I love a crowd, I really think it’s only fair that they actually wanna be there, ya know? Otherwise they end up being hecklers or feeling like they wasted $10. That’s certainly not fair.” She offered the other a soft smile as she hopped down from the stage. “I do both. They figure a ‘hot girl’ swallowing a sword will draw the crowd in so it would only be fair to have the hot girl working in the show too. Gotta give the people what they want.”

                     she loved it. attention was genuinely reeled in and a sense of fantasy swallowed her whole. there was always a feeling of power that came with such a built atmosphere. it made her feel resilient, and FREE. “ i loved it way beyond how much i adore your robe - and that pink silky number you had on… darling, love it .”  a fashion aficionado. margot had an appeal for materialistic garb. hell, even dressed down - the woman was chic as hell, and thoroughly impressed over wendy. “ – i’ll press my ‘how the fuck did you get a nail inside of you’ musings later .”  her dainty noted accent was sounded in amused tones. for now, she was running on the high of adrenaline the show had created. 

Wendy couldn’t help but blush as the other complimented her. “Awe, yay! I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I was so worried while I was up there. I couldn’t stop thinking if I hyped it up too much and if it was actually boring.” A slight sigh of relief. Wendy loved what she did, more than anything but sometimes she’d forget that not everyone had an interest in the wild and obscure work that she did. “So a few of us are going out for drinks in a little bit. It’s industry night at a bar up the block, half off all drinks if you work in the area. Everyone’ll back you and say you work with us if you wanna come? I’ll even get your first few drinks. Hell who knows. Catch me at the right moment and I’ll probably pay your whole tab.”
