Oh, you’ve got to understand (ca event open)
It had been only half a year, since he had last been here.
His massive hand ran over the surface of the core, and in its reflective surface his yellow eyes shone back at him. They looked wrong, he thought, leaning in closer to study his expressionless face. Perhaps it was merely a sense of the past, his memories mingling with the present once more. He was different now, and even if this city was not his, he would find a way to control it as well.
He made a fist, and slammed it into the surface of the core. It was certainly defended this time, and for once he could find no weaknesses in the foe he faced. The Nightmare Knight found himself wondering why the Scientists had not tried this before. He wouldn’t have had such an easy time of things if they had been so well-defended.
But... it felt wrong. This was how it was the first time, wasn’t it? Yet, this felt new.
He looked up, and found that far above him, was a grand pyramid just where this core stood. When had he arrived here? Where, exactly, was here?
This was Hive City, but it also, wasn’t. Perhaps it was, and he was not the Nightmare Knight. Or, could it be both?
Had he forgotten what he was?
No, he thought. This is Hive City, even if it was some... bizarrely twisted version of it. He was the Nightmare Knight, the conqueror of Dreamside and of this world beyond his own. This Core would bend to him, and under his grip this city would follow.
“Halt.” He turned, gaze locking on the figure behind him. “You come into the shadow of the Nightmare Knight. For what purpose would you find yourself before me?”
