Briefings of the Super League
People in modern days are more indulged in sports than those of the past. We see a number of football leagues all around the world. A number of games are held each year and many people travel to different countries just to view the matches. Many watch them online, or read about them online. All this shows the interest of people in such things.
As far as Denmark is concerned, there are a number of national football leagues. However, among them, the most famous is the Super League. Started in 1991, the league has changed its name a number of times but the game method remained the same. One change that was noticed was that initially there were ten teams in the game. Each team competed with the others; that resulted in two teams being expelled from the game. The rest of them then played the finals. However later in the spring of 1995-1996, the Super League changed the number of teams from 10 to 12. Now there were 12 teams that contested and the football matches kept going for a number of days. During this time, all the interested people would check out the details of the matches. Those who could afford to travel would travel to the host city. However, it all depended on one's interest. The spectators at the match were too many and the rising number of spectators showed the game was catching more and more attention by the people.
The Super League of Danish football was founded in 1991, but with the passage of time, a number of changes took place. Stadiums were built to house larger teams and larger spectators. More facilities were provided and the games were addressed at international level. One of the changes brought was that of the name. From 1991 to 1995 during its five-year period, the game enjoyed the name Super league. However, later when sport sponsorships started for the Super League and first sponsorship was gained by the Coca Cola Company, they changed the name to Coca Cola Legian to honor their sponsors. Later, they changed the name again for the next sponsor. However among these, the most famous was the SAS when the League changed its name to SAS legian and the Scandinavian Airlines sponsored the games. This name stayed for 9 years after which the SAS was again changed to Super League. However, despite of these changes in name, the games stayed the same with best players of the world and attracted large number of spectators.
The latest games held were those of spring 2011-2012. The games started on 17 July and they continued with teams competing with each other and getting out of the game until the final championship was achieved on 29 May. However, when the game started, there were ten competing teams but the last games had 12 competing teams. There were 33 matches in all when the twelve teams faced each other three times each. Finally, after the omission, the top two teams went to the final championship round.
Watch The super league if you love football (as the Danes say superligaen hvis du elsker fodbold). You can do that if you have TV with boxer tv(in Danish Tv med boxer tv).
