Feral Hearts

Two odd beings find tenderness, or a quiet kind of love that doesn’t need naming. What they find together may be love, or safety, or simply the relief of being seen. The world around them mirrors this truth: bones feed roots, insects thrive, and so-called unwanted beings persist. Nature does not reject them, and neither do they reject each other. DHMIS infatuation has struck me again so I made my own guy inspired by my two most favorite teachers to quell it.

Had a crazy idea today about WHAT IF, of "humans are crazy" etc.

What if there is an alien species that other aliens feared, not because of their physical strength, or their combat skills of war. But because they practice what we call brood parasitism, in which they place their children in other alien species nurseries and the like? How would that work? Depending if being mammals are the norm or not, just finding random dinosaur size egg in your kid's bed would be an interesting sight.

In some cases on earth, the invader baby would kill the hosts other eggs or children.

What if humans being pack animals and would adopt anything that's cute, just think it's a space new way of adopting a random alien baby.

How would other alien species react to humans, who knew they are imposter children but didn't care and just adopted them as their own?

This thought is inspired by the videos I saw about cuckoos from Natural Habitat shorts. 😂
