A cheesy wedge slices through
Snail-slow traffic belching fumes
It skids to a halt to a hail
Tires waving out the dingy swale
Farewelling emptiness for a fare
Two hands raised though not to share
Executives in mourning dress
Suits & ties, one bun, one hair a mess
A briefcase tightened in one fist
A clutching other echoes angry, pissed
For welting wheels did so nasty spray
Upon stiletto heels & loafers grey
A snarling lip set one to their face
While the other's mustache twitched in its place
In a hurry they both did grab
For the handle of this most unhandsome cab
Twas muddy, worn, & gritty painted
Muted down, forlorn, antiquated
More a Swiss than Cheddar its color was
All holey too from rust-worn gnaws
It rattled & spat with a sickenous air
Shuddered in smoggy uncaring flatulent flare
Its windows were tinted too dark to see
Its driver whose visage was none too clearly
Sat still in the front while the whole thing shook
Staring intently ahead without giving a look
The cabs wheels were the brightest things
Blinding chrome on ebony, speeding Mercury's wings
Despite its drab look, the two did so tussle
For their only chance to hie from pedestrian bustle
The fight quick commenced unflatteringly
Passersby ignoring the garrulous cacophony
The fight grew quite heated then
Bashing each other for their own weary yen
She screamed & he shouted, alike in undignity
Slapping each other from the threshold quite unmercifully
He clamored & clanged, furious he
She bit back with brute force, unabashedly
She stabbed him by foot, pricking the pop
He reeled & dropped down, all travel forgot
He sputtered exhausted & fell the ground
She wiped her heel on him smugly, winning the round
She righted herself for a moment before
Finally grabbing for that dingy car door
Only there was no longer where a cab was before
Only the horse whose police it no longer bore
She looked down now realizing in horrific abhor
That she'd done it again, forgot her mess, such a chore
Her heels still were slicked from the prior day's boor
Who she had to similarly pummel from touching her door
She sighed & startled, upset by the swaying memoried yore
Huffed & set out to find her horseless carriage once more
She darted through traffic standstillingly bored
Piercing through crowds like rain through clouds pour
Winkingly walking impatiently ignorant for
Another amnesiatic soul to angrily gore
For she too wandered the Styxian shore
Her curious taxi, Charonicly oared
