My new ttrpg character for Delta Green Impossible Landscapes campaign.
His name is Aiden Caldwell, he's a 31 y.o. police officer with a strict sense of justice, trouble sleeping and a wagon of trauma in the background. He has a family of mother and younger sister, whom he loves dearly but forgets to say that to them too often, and his father figure is his boss, detective Bergman (Aiden will never admit it out loud but it's true).
Photos of Aiden and his sister Maureen, first image is a collage she gifted him on his last birthday. Printed irl version of it has funny cat-like noses and ears drawn over the third photo, and "Happy birthday, big fox! From M. to A. ❤️" written in the upper right corner.
some character portraits I drew for my players in the delta green campaign im running
Recent Delta Green publications are well-written, interesting and seem like they'd be fun to run, but they're also fascinating in the sense that the authors are clearly trying so hard to create a project with a, like, bluesky-liberal sensibility and implicit politics out of fundamentally (and fractally) reactionary source material. Like Christian apologetics on here, that way..
I need some help brainstorming a "Delta Green, but not run in the Delta Green system (don't ask)" investigation.
Arizona, burned body was found on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Out of town woman, a hiker - went missing a few days ago.
The idea is that out in the desert there's a "softening" in the universe, a sort of cosmic quicksand that people can fall into and end up who knows where. Sometimes they're gone forever, sometimes they come back. Sometimes they bring back with them something that shouldn't be allowed on Earth.
In the desert there's a guy that lives out there who knows about this "softening" - even if he doesn't understand it. For years now he's been intercepting anyone that comes back and killing them. Burning the body and burying it - despite the distress it causes him. He doesn't know *why* it needs to be done, just that he can't risk letting anything back in - and that lights in the sky seem to be observing those that return.
my goal for the investigation is to have it be a classic "killer hunt" type thing, with the potential reveal of what's going on. But I need advice on how to handle this, and suggestions.
