I am under the impression you wish to understand Cable Braiding?

Well, seek no longer cuz Imma gunna teach ya a thing er two

Cable Braiding is actually really simple, but you must have a good understanding of how to braid and how to cable!

For your assistance, I have drawn you this simple diagram:

ugh sorry the colors are hard to see but to simplify: Braiding is simply taking the outer most side and switching it into the middle, alternating from the near side to the far side. Here have more pictures:

this is how your left needle will be set up. make sure each cluster is the same size in cast-ons across.

now, onto the actual Cable part of Cable Braiding.

essentially all you have to do is cable the outer clusters over the middle cluster, like this:

But wait! how do you pull the far side over the middle????

The answer is easy, my friend!

Much like you would slip off the cluster of cast-ons you'd want to cable over another cluster behind it (ie as in the first cable row), you do the same thing but slide off the cluster you want to have go behind!

Like this:

there! and that's all Cable Braiding is! Just repeat cabling the near over the middle and then the far over the middle as many times as you want and you've got yourself a pretty little Cable Braid!
