I very rarely use cable needles for actually knitting cables, but that doesn't mean I don't get a lot of use out of them for other stuff! In addition to being excellent for rescuing dropped stitches, pushing bobbin lace back onto the pillow if it's riding up on the pins, and other little crafting tasks like that, it occurred to me this morning that they would make excellent shawl pins!

I got so frustrated with my bad cable needle that I went and spent $5 on a pack of new cable needles just to get one of the good ones. Of course, now that I've bought a new one, I'm going to find the old one within the next few days.
