దేశంలోనే అతి పొడవైన తీగల వంతెనను ప్రధాని మోదీ గుజరాత్‌లోని ద్వారకలో ప్రారంభించి జాతికి అంకితం చేశారు. 2.3 కిలోమీటర్ల పొడవున్న దీనికి సుదర్శన్‌ సేతు అని పేరు పెట్టారు. ఇది ఓఖా ప్రాంతాన్ని బెట్‌ ద్వారకాతో అనుసంధానిస్తుంది. ద్వారకాదీశ్‌ ఆలయ సందర్శనకు వచ్చే యాత్రికులకు ఇది చాలా ప్రయోజనకరంగా ఉంటుంది.

Queen Elizabeth II Bridge

Opened in 1991 to double the volume of M25 traffic crossing the Thames, the QEII was the first UK bridge to use the DFBOT concession financing system, in which a builder consortium designs, finances, constructs and operates the motorway, and transfers to the public sector. With a clear span of 450m, it is the largest cable-stayed bridge in Europe. Problems occur however due to its sheer height. High winds cause lateral loading on the piers and can result in the bridge swaying, so in these scenarios, the bridge has to be closed.

Quite ironically, I will shortly be avoiding this bridge whilst travelling to an interview at the office which helped design it. Then again I'm not sure how more reliable the underground can prove to be.

To finish off, unlike the photo above, where an oblique angle shows the piers in a fairly ugly light, the bridge does look quite picturesque directly upstream.
