“C’mon, man, you’re gonna drag me ‘n HBM all the way out here and not even tell me what it’s about?”

“Right, right, well, as I said, there’s one more coming and I don’t like repeating myself, so-” 

“Well, I don’t like waiting! So-”

“Well, then, we’re both lucky, here he is now. Hello, yes! You’re Mr. Verzei, right?”

> Krisof waves cheerfully at the other two as he shouts back.

“Krisof, please! I’ll feel old if you keep calling me that!” 

> Behind him, Bisondad seems agitated, constantly sniffing the air. 

“....Hey, is your lusus alright, there? He’s kinda making me nervous.”

“To be honest, I’m...not sure. He’s been acting strange for a few hours, now, but I can’t pinpoint why...”

> MEANWHILE...

“...? What’s up, you hear something?”

WELL 

Whether Cabryn agrees to do the hugging thing or not is going to depend on a lot of things, but mostly on whether or not you and he are in public, in which case the answer is probably going to be no. But if it’s in private and you give him reason to think you’re in a bad way emotionally, he’ll try and play it off like nothing and keep up the tough guy act, but at some point he’ll trail off, sigh, and swoop in for a hug that, while short, is very firm and warm. And then he will stand up and try to play it off again, and probably ask if you wanna go play video games or something. Cabby’s not so great at this emotional stuff, but he gets needing sympathy, and he knows he’s a better distraction than he is at talking stuff out.

Zola grinned and wormed herself in behind Cabryn, ignoring the way he got riled up and started to hiss and spit nastiness at her.  Curling her arms around his shoulders, she watched the video game that he was playing and occasionally pointed out the guards that would chase him down if he didn’t stealth himself in the shadows or between a crowd.  Big Mama didn’t like these sorts of games at work because she didn’t want to accidentally rile up the customers who might already be on edge.  

Cabryn was hissing something under his breath as he moved his character closer and closer to the target, baring his teeth when yet another old lady moved in front of him wailing: ‘You don’t understand, I’m poor and sick and I -need- money.’

"So f—"

"Language." Zola murmured, ruffling his hair.

"So -freaking- annoying." Cabryn switched his term as he leaned with his controller to the side, walking around the annoying old woman.

"Yeah, it’s better with the lute players in later games." Zola nodded in agreement.
