As soon as the shock of the moment had died down, Wick quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and threw open the door of the car to check up on the damage, sliding briefly on the ice. Along his way, he noticed the woman in the car who had just hit his, now very clearly sobbing her eyes out with the door partially open.
"Hey, hey, c’mon," Wick said, brow creasing in concern as he pulled the door open a little further and stooped beside her. "It’s alright, hey, don’t worry about it," he said nervously, a little unsure of how to comfort her.
"I hit the ice and could not stop!" she sobbed, almost incomprehensibly. "I am not used to this sort of weather, I tapped the break like they told me to but… I am sorry, I am so very sorry," she continued, covering her face with her hands, shoulders shaking heavily. Wick felt absolutely awful at this point and did the only thing he could think of to do and wrapped his arms around the sobbing woman, allowing her to bury her head in his shoulder.
"It’s alright. We’ll get a tow and our insurance will take care of it and it’ll all be fine. My name’s Wick. What’s yours?" he asked gently, resting a tentative hand on her masses of curly black hair. The woman gasped heavily into his shoulder a few moments, trying to get a handle on her crying before looking up to meet his eyes with her own teary blue ones.
"Roxie," she said, trying to put on a smile through her tears. "My name is Roxie."
"Okay then, Roxie," Wick said with as reassuring a smile as he could manage. "How about we get this all sorted out and then I'll buy you a coffee, okay?"
Figure in their own canon, Sabel could just teleport them away, so this is probably one of their human AUs——————————————————————-
"Adrian, there’s too much sun. I hate this," Sabel said, flopping her head down into her bedraggled husbands lap on the beach where he himself had collapsed a few moments before. "The private plane was a very bad idea." "I know, I know," Adrian groaned, running a hand over his wet blond hair in distress as he glanced slowly over their surroundings. "I’ll start building a signal fire soon, but I need to rest from the swim first…"
"Do you hear that?" she asked, tilting her head toward the canopy of trees nearest to them.
"No…?" Adrian looked about questioningly, trying to pick up whatever she was.
"Exactly… There’s nobody else here, Adrian… Not another soul," she said, the distress and annoyance that had previously been written on her features to be replaced by contemplation. "What do you have in that bag you took from the plane?" she asked, jutting her hand toward the large nylon pouch that had accompanied them for the swim. Adrian cocked an eyebrow but didn’t question and began digging through it.
"Uhh… signal flares, water, food, purifier, a bowie knife… Standard emergency kit things…" he said, looking back up at his wife from the bag.
"That will do," she nodded firmly. "Just keep that boy scout training of yours close… I just realized this is the chance we’ve been waiting for. The chance to never have to see another living person again."
Adrian looked at her oddly a moment before the realization of the circumstance began to dawn on his face to.
"You’re right," he said, his face breaking into a weary, if manic, little smile. "Let’s go look for water. The sooner we make this sustainable, the better!"
