Caesar mourning Arcade is actually one of the most casually depraved moments in the entire game. Because Arcade has just rejected Edward as loudly and violently as possible but that rejection doesn’t give Edward pause at all. Like whatsoever. He has objectified Arcade so completely that the fact that he hates him - and himself by proxy - so much doesn’t bother him on an emotional level. It makes you thankful Arcade died before that shit could go any further and it’s so very telling of what it’s like to have a place in a man like that’s heart.
