     if he had become good at stealing, it was just because the need of eating pushed him to be not only good, but the BEST: one mistake and everything would be over, one false step and he would not have time to run to a safe place where he could hide or defend himself ( it would still take him a couple of years before realizing he would be safe and everywhere, for he would always carry his most efficient weapon with himself. His future was not his to be seen, though ). He was still panting a little when he entered his alley and let himself fall on the ground, in the darkest corner where no one would find him, the piece of bread still in his pocket. He had almost been seen, but his luck had struck once again and now he had no need to be worried. 

     He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to calm down, and when he almost managed to a finger gently tapped on his shoulder. A brief screech was let out, and Irial turned to face his assailant, but prevented himself from running away again as soon as he saw who they really were. "What are you doing here?"
