Has Yuki ever had a Caf-Pow before?
"Uh, Yuki...?" Jackson waved a hand in front of his friends face. One sip from the highly caffeinated beverage, and Yuki was staring off into space. His were eyes as wide as saucers, while Jackson desperately tried getting his attention back. "Yuki... Earth to Yuki..."
"I CAN SEE THE FUTURE!" Yuki's sudden exclamation made Jackson jump back in shock.
Has Jackson ever had a Caf-Pow before?
Jackson smiles from his couch in his shared dorm room, looking over the back of it as Tali rummaged through the fridge for something to drink and finally settling on a glass of Jackson's prized sweet ice tea.
"Yeah, I've had Caf-Pow before. They sell it like water back in New Orleans." Jackson smiles as Tali finds her way back to him, setting the glass of sweet tea on a coaster before laying next to him and fitting her body into his with her back to his chest. Jackson reflexively curls his left arm around her hips and pulls her closer, prompting her to wriggle slightly deeper into his warmth. “Apparently they think people need to be alert all the time, though I only had it a couple times...”
"So, what does it taste like?" Tali's voice came as a whisper as she closed her eyes, not caring at all what was on TV. She preferring the feeling of her Dorogoi Drakon's fingers in her hair and on her skin anyway. "Yuki said it feels like cherry juice and club soda, with a rocket fuel finish once it hits your blood stream..."
“It’s something like that.” Jackson whispered back, ignoring the TV as well. “Though I’d describe it more like the biggest sugar high you’d ever experience.”
I found this while cleaning. My friend made it for me yearrrsss ago. If anyone wants it, I will ship it for free to someone in the U.S. I’d hate to toss it but don’t need it.
Jack, don't cut Yuki off from the caffine. Instead, give him a chance to prove his prophetic proficiency. Give him a lottery ticket, and see if he really can see the future while on Caf-Pow.
"Alright. Are you sure you want to do this?" Jackson asks, eyeing his friend wearily. He was holding a 64-oz red cup in his left hand, and ten scratch-off lottery tickets in his right.
"Not at all. Let's do it anyway." Yuki said, currently seated in his dorm and mentally preparing for possibly the biggest caffeine rush of his life.
The two young men were either going to discover the secret of peering into what has yet to come, or find out how to make a human run fast enough to break the sound barrier. Yuki's constant exclamations of being able to "see the future" whenever he'd had even a sip of Caf-Pow had landed them in this predicament. After this, Yuki was cut off about as Cold Turkey as one could be cut off from something.
"Alright. Let's go through this one last time." Jackson said as he wearily eyed the large soft drink cup in his hand. "You take a couple gulps of Caf-Pow, then pick the winning ticket. You get it, we split the cash."
"Yeah. I got it. Let's do this." Yuki nodded, taking the cup from Jackson, removing the lid, and taking three sizeable gulps of its contents. Yuki felt nothing in the seconds afterwards, even being coherent enough to hand the cup back to Jackson. Suddenly, his back went ramrod straight and his eyes dilated almost to the point of being consumed entirely by his pupils.
Jackson took his friend by the shoulders as Yuki started rambling incoherently in his caffeine-crazed state.
"Yuki! YUKI! FOCUS! Focus, tell me what you see!" Jackson said as Yuki's eyes darted from stimulus to stimulus.
"I... Can... See... EVERYTHING!!!"
An hour later, Jackson was standing next to a post-clairvoyant-episode Yuki, jaw slacked, and not even remotely believing what just happened. To his credit, neither could Yuki for that matter.
Yuki had not only accurately chosen the winning scratch-off lottery ticket, but had won a sizeable amount for the pair.
"Ten thousand dollars?! YUKI HYOUDOU YOU LUCKY PSYCHIC BASTARD, YOU JUST WON US TEN GRAND!" Jackson jumped with joy as Yuki did a happy dance of his own.
Off to their left stood Tali and Alexis, neither having any idea what their boyfriends were doing.
"Tali?" Alexis sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Da?" Tali replied, mirroring Alexis's gesture of disappointment.
"Why are we dating those dorks?"
"... Because we happen to like the dorkiness?"
"... Eh, I'll go with that..."
