Sloome at Deva
The music play, the crowd shows up, and the band goes to work. When I first heard Sloome at Cafe Deva in Modesto, the night was full with anticipation and glee. The new Central Valley Dreampop/Shoegaze outfit played an amazing show to a crowded cafe of 60+ occupants ranging from Millennials to Boomers. The bands frontman Kurt Wars and Co, presented the house with songs that painted landscapes and tapestries of sound. Two guitars, drums, bass, and Keyboard. The group provided a lush and full sound that folks were sure to get lost in. Sloome was a wonderful treat and I hope that the tides of trend and time doesn’t wear them down like many bands from the CV. Their future is bright and it brings hope to the idea of that music can be freeing.
