Getting very personal for a second, but, as someone who has a debilitating dependency on caffeine - where a normal cup or two of coffee does not help the withdrawal symptoms I experience, why do people not take caffeine dependency seriously?

I used caffeine to replace alcohol, and I cannot get through an hour of the day without caffeine before I start getting migraines and getting nauseous. It's awful, it's so bad that sometimes all I'm able to do is stay completely still, any movement and its like my skin is melting. Constantly disoriented, etcetera.

Nobody ever takes it seriously, nobody ever actually believes me when I explain it all. The literal only people that do are my very very close circle who know the alcohol thing, and my mother.

I think waiting to get an abortive med for my migraines before cutting caffeine was definitely the right move because the withdrawal definitely was about to trigger a huge ass migraine and the sumatriptan just got rid of it.
