"I swear if those asshats come in again, I'm "accidentally" spilling coffee over all of them." Luis let out a dramatic sigh as he cleaned up the dishes. "Do they not know how to reach their mouths when they eat? It's like grown men eating like toddlers." He carried the dishes to the back and came back out to wipe down the table. "Oh yeah one of your billions of suitors came in earlier," he teased, looking over his shoulder so he could see her face. "You know I can start charging them, ask them what dowry they plan on providing. Bet you didn't think I knew what that was, huh? I read Pride and Prejudice." Actually he had used his magic to tell him what it was about so he could hit on someone back in high school but she didn't need to know all of that. "Is that what it is, Fal? You just waiting for your Mr. Darcy?"

Xander was a man who liked to stick to his routine and nights at Old Mill Diner had become pretty routine when he didn't want to cook for himself or when calls when late and he had missed out on the fresh meal at the firehouse. It helped that Xander felt like it was a way to be around people without necessarily having to be with other people. In his early months in Cardinal Hill, his visits to the diner had been a way for him to get a feel for the town and it's people. It also helped that the staff was friendly, starting with the woman he smiled at as soon as he came in. "Ms. Cooper, I have to say, you are going to be very proud of me."

Xander took his usual seat at the counter and waved at another regular. He grabbed a menu despite how much he ordered the same thing but his eyes were still on Fallon. "I finally listened to that album you suggested. I mean you know non rock is usually not my thing but I think the pop is growing on me." He flipped the menu over and hummed one of the tunes for her just to prove it. "I will take a coffee and a story about your day as soon as you get the chance."

Corey was doing okay, in the grand scheme of things at least. Times had certainly been tough, with horrible memories from his past feeling more present than they had even back when he was actively living through them, but at the very same time, Corey had also been experiencing some wonderful things. Now more than ever, Corey felt as though he had real connections, a proper support system, people in his life to turn to when he needed it the most. Life was strange, Cardinal Hill even more so, but Corey wasn't feeling entirely defeated, not when so many friendly faces were reminding him of everything that mattered in the world.

Some days were better than others, though, and that morning, Corey hadn't woke up feeling his best. He thankfully wasn't at his worst either, not needing to seek out comfort in the arms of a loved one, but it was enough for him to throw on a winter coat and get out of the house. Since he had the day off, and didn't need to preserve energy for anything, he decided that a long, brisk walk throughout the picturesque town might do him some good. Lost in his own little world, it took the sight of a very familiar face to finally bring Corey back to reality. Smiling, he made a beeline for Fallon over on the park bench. "I shoulda known you'd be here," he greeted her with a small wave. "What's going on?"
