Location: Cardinal Carnival & Fun Fair (near the food stalls) Starter for @cardinalstart

"Uh if you were hoping for a corn dog I'd give it at least another 20 minutes unless you want it extra fried." Xander laughed at his own joke as he glanced back at the stall. He had been hoping to enjoy more of the carnival but he had ended up working and had greatly underestimated how many literal and figurative fires he would need to put out throughout the opening days of the carnival. "Or I'll buy you one when they're ready if you pretend to need my assistance at the Basketball Shoot. There's a prize there I kind of want to win for someone. What do you say?"

The day had been long and full of so many literal fires to put out, it had been too late when Xander finally realized he hadn't eaten much that day. He had already left the firehouse, eager to for a shower and some sleep but as he drove, his stomach spoke pretty loudly to him. Like a beacon in the night, the Diner's sign called out to him and before he could think about it much, he was pulling into a parking spot. As he walked in, he felt some of his exauhstion fall away from him as he laid eyes on Fallon behind the counter. "Wow, now I really understand what they mean when they say someone is a sight for sore eyes." Xander's smile widened slowly as he found his favorite seat. Since they had been getting to know each other outside of the Diner more, Xander had found that he really enjoyed spending time with her and he thought often about their slow dance in this very diner a couple week ago.

"I need you to not judge me for how much food I'm about to order. I forgot to eat enough and it's been a long day. I'm sure I look like crap." He sighed, running his hands over his face before looking at her again. "How much longer are you working for tonight?" @beatingyounghearts

Location: Xander's Trailer Starter for @hearthandhallows

"So, after some research, I think Storm from X-Men might be my favorite superhero. I mean come on, there's no competition. She is so badass." Xander came back out from the trailer with two cold drinks, having set up some lawn chairs and rigged a tv to play out there. He had started calling it his "porch" which always made him laugh. If he was going to learn about all things nerdy with Felix, he wanted Felix to also learn about the things he liked which is why they were sat watching a Chicago Cubs game while enjoying what little sun the day was offering. "You following along yet or what?" He pointed at the TV before handing a drink to Felix. "Best part of a game, bases loaded, 2 outs, Pitcher is 3 and 2, which means he's thrown 3 balls and 2 strikes, one way or another this pitch is gonna define this inning. Any of that make sense?"

Location: On the Road/Seahawks game

"I can't believe we're actually doing this." Xander laughed as he pulled onto the highway that would take them to Kingdome for the Seahawks game. Xander had only been able to go to a few games last year so he was excited to be going so early in the season. He had saved up to buy tickets for a couple of games and was hoping to bring as many different people as he could with him. When Theo had agreed, he was excited to spend more time with him, finding that when they were together it was easy for Xander to have fun. "You sure you ready for this?" He drummed his hands against the steering wheel in excitement. "I mean they've kind of grown on me even though I've always been a bears fan but, I hope they kick the broncos ass."

Location: Somewhere in town Starter for @angstfactory (Neylani)

"Lieutenant, I don't know about you but I think I could use a vat of coffee after that," Xander admitted though he could probably use something stronger. They had responded to a building fire that seemed to have been started by a couple of teens trying to cook without their parents home. Luckily they had managed to keep the fire contained but between evacuating everyone and the teens who had started the fire running away from them, it had felt like herding cattle all morning and it had only been their second real call of the day.

Xander took off his helmet as he worked on getting everything loaded back onto the truck as folks were slowly being let back in. "You mind if we make a pit stop at the Ceramic Cup on the way back to the station? My treat. If this was any indication, I kind of think we have a weird day ahead of us."

Xander took a moment, even taking another bite of cake before he said anything. He thought about messing with them and making a sarcastic joke before telling the truth but from the way Felix had presented the cake, he felt like it was only right to take it seriously. "That seriously may be the best cake I've ever had, Felix. And I'm not just saying that to say that. Like," he paused and took another big bite both to prove his point and because he had been craving it almost immediately after his last bite. "The guys at the firehouse would go wild for something like this." He finally sat back and put his fork down, patting his stomach gently. "Thanks for that, needed something good after a day like today. Hey, I got something I need your nerdy opinion on though," he told them. Xander didn't always consider himself the smartest person. He didn't want to be but he knew he could probably read more and fill his life with more culture. He at least was interested in music but beyond that most of his hobbies were related to fitness or maintenance related work.

He got up from the chair in his living room to retrieve something from his bedroom. "I figure I should try to I don't know, read more, see what's going on out there. And like, comic books count, right? But I bought these at some yard sale recently, no idea if they're worth it," he told Felix and set the comic books down on the table. "Uh I think one is like X-Men and the other two are something called Watchmen. You ever heard of it? I don't know, my younger brother was always into this more than me."

"Knock, knock, doc," Xander called out as he walked into Eleanor's office, a take out bag from Emerald Dragon in one of his hands. He had wanted to check in on a patient he had brought in the other day for Brook and he figured if he was going to be around anyway, he might as well bring Nell some lunch. It was different to work in a small town as opposed to how things had been in Chicago, it meant he saw more of the same people and as a result he had actually formed some solid friendships from there. Eleanor was one of those people and in the spirit of nurturing his friendships as he promised his sister her would, bringing a friend lunch seemed like a good thing to do.

"I'm here to make sure you don't miss lunch," he told her with a smile once she was in view and held up the bag. "I got extra dumplings. I was feeling a little crazy," he joked. "Busy day?"

"Hey Doc, sorry to bother you, you got a second?" Xander usually would have kept it to himself and fixed himself up when he got home but he had a long shift ahead of him. "Sorry about crowding your waiting room though. Patient insisted we brought him here instead. Seems like he trusts you more than anybody," Xander admitted with a shrug. He most knew Doctor Adams in passing from their work. But people in the community seemed to like him and Xander had great respect for that. "It's just the guy was a little agitated when we arrived, he might have thrown a few things, I didn't think it was much but he nicked me here," Xander told him and pointed at the cut on his neck. "You uh mind just checking it out to make sure it doesn't get infected? You'd be doing me a real solid."
