DA RP write-up #12.8
(new title? A bit more organized, still under construction, opinions? does it look too much like a date? it’s the 8th session of the 12th campaign, alternatively if i do it like i do kons, this would be DA RP 42, how about that?)
Hmm, hmm, a battle again. I’ll put the disclaimer that I probably won’t remember all here, just in case. So this battle features a lot of people. Like a ton. I’ll just start throwing names out, don’t be confused. Oh and most of the regular hitting is omitted for brewity’s sake.
Mareud starts things off with summoning some demons, who do some sleeping and weakening. Markhas, the commander of Mareud’s guard attacks our carpenter, Bella.
Boshara does her signature flameblast, and for that gets surrounded by guards.
Randy sends Aarli Hauveli off to find Kuisma, as he attacks one of the guards with his flying mace.
Jelaina starts to sign a song of Valor, managing to wake at least some of the people still asleep.
Two mages use their spells to weaken Boshara’s resistances so Senna can capture her as a blood slave.
A demon paralyzes Randy, which is kinda bad because Mareud summons a blizzard at that end of the table. Senna makes Boshara walk into it.
Luckily Dominique, Piper the Fearless and Tall-Breck help the people stuck in the blizzard out.
Things don’t look too good so Alf and Jelaina grab Elspet and make a run for it. Outside they see Kuisma who is being bothered by Aarli Hauveli. They tell her that her son is inside, and she rushes in.
Darian and Siana grab Bella who has suffered in the hands of Markhas, and start taking her away from the battle.
Kuisma gets to others, but behind her the way out is blocked by another blizzard. Our doggie, Tall-Breck and Piper make it out, joining the others in an escape.
There’s some guards in the way but Jelaina stuns one and Alf executes the world’s most painful stun (somewhere in the distance Arkaitz feels a sudden warmth of pride for no reason ;) ).
Will Turner tries to grab Boshara, but he doesn’t get too far and is paralyzed. In fact just about everyone is paralyzed and Mareud asks whether they’d like to surrender or would they enjoy death better?
Surrender seems less of a permanent option, so that is what they take.
Meanwhile, in the forest Cahair and Halet are having a lovely conversation, which started with Halet insisting that he should go with Cahair to scout.
Halet wants to know why Cahair is hanging out with humans, Cahair wants to know why Halet can’t leave him be.
Halet tries to explain, to which Cahair interrupts, saying that he knows exactly why Halet did what he did, and that is somehow worse.
The only reason, he continues, why he isn’t attacking Halet is that he doesn’t want to be just like Halet, just like him.
Halet kinda finds out that Cahair’s clan was killed by another elf, and that Cahair is of the opinion that Halet is just like that elf. (I believe something along the lines of “I can’t look at you, because I see him” might have been uttered)
That’s enough to shut Halet up, and leave Cahair.
Cahair goes scouting with the shapeshifter elf, who’s quiet and exactly the kind of a person Cahair needs to be with rn.
They move the elf camp closer to the town (mostly thanks to Cahair). Cahair is on guard duty that night when he sees one of the elven slaves (the teenager who he had talked to prior) trying to walk away.
Cahair catches up to him and manages to talk him out of trying to escape, promising he’ll come and get him back.
In the morn it’s agreed that Cahair will try to get to the ship to let the others know of their situation.
The escaped group makes it back to the ship, and an emergency battle conference is called, featuring Alf, Elspet, Humbert, Kanuuna (played by Randy’s player), Kustaa (played by Boshara’s player) and Konstantine (played by me).
They discuss whether they should attack the castle, but that might be too open of a declaration of hostility.
People should be armed though just in case the magister attacks, even if some of the better fighters of the ship are being held prisoners.
Kustaa thinks some sneaky sneakers should be sent to the town and the castle to either locate the prisoners or try to get people of the town to turn against the magister.
Randy had shouted at Alf to contact Orzammar before they fled, so that’s a viable option.
Randy is of course prisoner, but his mother is on the ship and could probably help proving Randy’s noble status.
Of course getting word to Orzammar would take months, and even a letter to the Orzammar embassy in Minrathous would take too much time.
There is of course Jasinto and Jasinta who might be able to help, though people aren’t sure where they are.
Konstantine says he has a spell that helps find objects, so if Elspet or Alf remember anything Jasinto and Jasinta were wearing he might be able to locate them
We leave our good planners a-planning and turn to Boshara and Randy. The other crew members are being held in the captive cells, but Boshara and Randy are taken to the cellar where the elven door is.
Randy gets new tattoos, he tries asking for Elgar’nan’s tattoos, but apparently the shop offers only Dirthamen’s.
Boshara asks if someone could pretty hers up, but the request is not granted.
The session ends with Mareud asking her tattoo’d friends to stand up and they do, whether they want or not.
Dundunduu. Well now we have lost the two characters who usually do best in battle to the enemy. Oh boy, oh boy, things are gon get (decidedly not) fun.
