Cairi, with a determined expression on her face and rosy cheeks, she walks right over to where Zitian is standing. But what's this? Cairi has come prepared with a step-stool! Promptly she puts it down and stands on it. She is now eyelevel with a somewhat confused Himbo Dragon.

Cairi lifts her glasses and perches them on top of her head. Then before Zitian can question what she is doing she reaches out, gently taking his blurry face in her hands. She didn't really need to see right then as she leans in to press a fervent kiss to his lips. She's a bit rusty but nonetheless passionate as her soft lips move against his. No one could call her anything less than Ardent in her efforts to get Zitian to feel and understand how deeply she felt for him. How much she wanted to include him in every part of her life as was possible. And how desperately she wanted him to feel and respond in kind.

Prickly Situation

The forest had been quiet for most of the morning, like usual. Just the steady chirp of the birds in the trees, and the soft gurgle of the stream that ran through the garden.

Too calm maybe? For Cairi was feeling anxious as she donned a light coat and stepped out into the muggy afternoon. The clouds from this morning had returned after only a spare few hours of sunshine and there was the scent of rain on the breeze that wafted by. 

The feelings of anxiety had begun from the moment she’d woken up yet again at her research desk after a long night of working tirelessly to find what she was looking for. Only to end in more dead ends. She walked along the usual deer paths with a basket in hand. Gathering herbs and mushrooms as she went, and aiming for the patch of thick blackberry brambles between her home and the greater river passed them. She hummed solemnly to herself as her hooves softly scattered leaves from her path. Autumn was rushing headlong towards them and Cairi didn’t know if she could feel excited for it. Since it meant yet another year might close without an answer to her clan’s problem.

Her problem too.

Danger Noodle Thoughts

Cairi smiled as she listened to Zitian ramble happily about the little Fall Festival they were coming back from. Really it was more on the scale of a farmer's market, but the games and festival food stands that were set up made up the difference.

They were walking arm in arm, Zitian holding Cairi's bag that held the little souvenirs, fresh apple cider, and the fancy candied apples she'd gotten for them to share. She was musing at how different her life was now that he was in it.

She didn't know how it had happened, though she could hazard a guess. But somehow he had slipped past all of the walls she had built to protect herself and what was left of a shattered heart. Cairi laughed at something he said. Before he showed up she hadn't laughed in quite a long time. There was laughter, liveliness, and fun in her life again. Sure there had also come some stress, but Cairi felt it was well worth it. Especially compared to what she had been through in the past.

Her garden wall and the cottage beyond that was within sight. She felt happy that he was here with her. She wanted him here with her and she wanted to be there for him. Just wanted him. Someone who was so caring towards her that she didn't know quite how to process it sometimes. Someone who she felt safe to be vulnerable with.

"Zitian... I think I need to talk tae ye about somethin... somethin important." She said when she had an opening to, and just as they were coming up to her garden gate.

I'm really happy with how this is coming. I'm picking out clothes for her currently.

What do we even call their ship? xD Danger Noodle Witchery? Tea Lovers? Nope Rope Ship? xD

#1 Is Home by Christina Perri. 'I never thought that you would be the one(s) to hold my heart' + 'You put your arms around me and I'm home' Sounds like Cairi talking about Zitian all over the place. #2 If I Lose Myself by One Republic sounds like Cairi learning to let go and live again when around Zitian.

#3 I'm choosing Kiss me by Sixpence None the Richer because it sounds cute and cozy which is definitely vibes for Zitian and Cairi's relationship all over. And i'm ngl she is a little affection starved and would just melt even if Zitian was just holding her hand (not just her arm) And with how they roam around when she's gathering her herbs I just am seeing this cute montage of sweet kisses because I am hopeless. >u<
