she could get used to waking up to josie in her bed. “ great. i had a late night rendezvous with a hot witch & somehow managed to talk her into staying over. ” fianna grins cheekily, leaning over to press their lips together for a soft morning kiss. “ how did you sleep ? i hope my dogs & their snoring didn't keep you awake. ”

one of the few people she can take off her mask around, nico is . . . lucky enough to experience the full chill of the ice queen. really only because they're enemies, and she sees no point in faking niceties. doing so when facing a rival in this business would only make her appear weak, something she can never allow. ❛ aw, why not a threat? those are so much more fun, ❜ she responds, tone sweet but an obvious mocking glint to her eyes. ❛ i may be a lady, but there's no need to play nice. ❜ or rather, she'd prefer the opposite, conflict and being at odds with others being the thing she's most used to.

             ❛            you want my opinion ? move on.            ❜           it had been nearly a month since i'd rescued jackie from freezing to death. everyone was walking on eggshells around her ; either that , or ignoring her all together , most still prickly about her attitude toward them the afternoon prior to the incident. shauna in particular had been very cold toward her , but i knew better. she was ashamed that their argument drove jackie out there , she was guilty. if anyone could hold a grudge , it was jackie , but it was helping no one , especially her.

i moved over toward her place near the window , passing her a mug of hot tea , my brow inching pointedly toward my hairline as i waited for her to take it.             ❛            we have .. two selves , jackie. one , the people we were before the crash , & who we are now. embrace change , or you'll probably end up like coach , withering away in the back bedroom.            ❜           i wanted to see her survive , & given the fact that the wilderness spared her , something else wanted her to live , too. but her fate was up to her , in the end. i could only point her in the right direction.             ❛            you can question my decisions , i don't care , just .. keep a more open mind.            ❜
