Don't know if you're taking prompts, but: buddie moment in bed where they're holding hands and looking at their wedding rings. Whatever fluff you want to put here works for me. But I want at least one moment where Buck gets emotional looking at both their rings, and what they mean.
I’ve had this in my inbox for genuinely an embarrassingly long time. But I’ve really been struggling with getting back into writing and this prompt helped me brush some of the rust off! Sorry it’s in Eddie’s POV, season 4 Eddie has been making me soft these past couple weeks and I couldn’t help myself. Hope you like it!
Quiet morning moments like these were ones that Eddie cherished the most.
Weak sunlight peeks through the blinds hanging on the windows, bathing the room and its two occupants in a warm, sunny glow. The rays dappled across the golden curls atop Buck’s head, and Eddie couldn’t resist the urge to run his fingers through the silky strands gently. The movement against his scalp made Buck shift slightly in his sleep, huffing out a soft breath as he curled further into Eddie’s warmth with his head pillowed on his lover’s chest.
Eddie smiled to himself as he continued to card his hand through Buck’s curls. Even all these months later, every morning still felt as memorable as the first.
“Hey, baby,” Eddie murmured.
Buck hummed softly, a deep, throaty sound that made Eddie’s toes curl. “Mornin’.” He lifted his head slightly, blinking the sleep out of those ocean blue eyes, and smiled sleepily up at Eddie.
Eddie leaned down slightly and pressed his lips softly against Buck’s forehead, wrapping an arm around his waist and pulling him closer. “Happy anniversary, Mr. Diaz.”
The happy noise Buck let out warmed Eddie’s heart. His husband pulled himself up slightly and pressed their lips together in a blissful kiss. “Happy anniversary, Mr. Diaz,” Buck murmured once they pulled back, smiling down at him.
Eddie was speechless as he gazed up at him. His husband was always beautiful, but right now, he looked like an angel. Daylight formed a halo around his figure, and the sight of it made Eddie lift his left hand and cup the side of his face, brushing his hand thumb reverently across his cheekbone. “I love you, Ev.”
Buck leaned into the touch, gazing adoringly down at him. “I love you, too,” he murmured, bending down to capture Eddie’s lips in a gentle kiss.
From the corner of his eyes, Eddie could see the sunlight glinting off his silver wedding band. Now, it rested on his hand where Buck had reverently put it on their wedding day, but during the day, he kept it close to his heart on the chain with his medallion. More than just the symbol of their love, to Eddie, it reminded him of the brilliant light that Buck had brought to his darkness.
Buck’s lips turned more insistent against his own, and Eddie willingly fell back against the bed, dragging his husband down with him and letting the thoughts slip from his mind. Whatever darkness he may had felt he was trapped in didn’t matter any longer—Buck brought the daylight and magic back to his life, and he would spend the rest of his life thanking him with his love.
