Mike is a baker and works part time at a local bakery because his parents were tired of him not doing anything.
Will who works as a cake decorator for fancy orders because he needs the cash for collage.
It could either be childhood friends to lovers, strangers to lovers or acquaintances to lovers.
Will hums as he frosts the cake while Mike watches transfixed from the side. Mike bakes quickly and efficiently and don't ask how he picked up the massive mixer off the floor (it was Jane/El).
He's Karen walkemdown Wheelers son, of course he can cook and bake at an Olympic Level, what are you talking about? Nancy's the one who can't cook or bake for shit, while Holly is the messy baker of the house 💙🩷🩵 (Wheeler siblings have my heart)
Mike always finds a moment to complement each order Will completes while saving Will a special dessert he baked that day. He gives Will a special dessert everyday when they close up the shop.
Will returns the favour by making a massive D&D inspired 3D cake for Mike's birthday (it's a thesylhydra). He spends so long on it and he begged the owners of the place (a lovely elderly couple) to give Mike the week off so he could surprise him with it. They agreed and Will rushed the cake to Mike's place after finishing it with an hour to spare for Mike's party.
Mike cried when Will walked into the room with the candles lit on it and hugged him for ages after :)
Mike always gets flour on his apron, no matter what he's doing (it's a curse) and Will always gets frosting on his nose (somehow). Mike always licks it off.
They're so efficient as a team that they can handle the whole store themselves and the owners are always so impressed by their synchronisation.
When Will isn't feeling well, Mike runs across the street to grab him coffee and vise versa (even though Mike insists that Will doesn't need to do anything for him).
I propose we call this AU Cakefroster but if anyone has any better suggestions, I'm all ears <33
