Sesshoumaru hating paperwork is a HotM headcanon that you'll have to pry out of my cold, dead hands; I love it so much.
I don't know what it is about this time of year, but I suddenly get OBSESSED with keeping up my writing streak. Maybe these WIP Wednesdays are helping, too, since I love having stuff to share.
Let's do 'Heeling Spirit' and 'Just Imagine'? Yes? Sweet.
Heeling Spirit:
"You awoke a demon dog into the modern world and... That's it?"
Kagome smiled and shrugged. "That's it. I don't know much else right now, but Mama and Sota need me so we need to get to them." The mountain sunshine combined with her frantic packing had glossed her forehead in sweat, and when she flung the car door open the heat that had built up inside buffered against her face. "Bleh," Kagome complained as she tossed her bags into the empty space next to the driver's seat. As if just now noticing she was missing something vital, Kagome's smile fell. "Wait, where is Sesshoumaru?"
Both women looked towards the cabin as the demon in question slid the screen open. He strode out, unhurried if not a little shaky on his bare feet, then glanced around. The too bright mid-morning light was blinding as it glared off of his silver hair and pale skin. And there was a lot of skin showing. Kagome's faded pink robe kept threatening to reveal previously unknown stripes with each of his deliberate movements.
Her brow wrinkled. Something else seemed to be missing from him, not just his clothes. She just couldn't pinpoint what.
"Okay, you need to leave," Kimiko conceded, "but maybe stopped by a store on your way there."
"I keep forgetting that his clothes didn't transform with him." Kagome pulled her poor, dumbstruck friend into a fierce hug to try and convey her sympathy and urgency. "I promise I'll let you know anything new as soon as I do. Keep your husband out of trouble, I don't know what else might be out there right now."
Kimiko tensed in her arms. "What do you mean 'what else is out there'?"
Kagome squeezed her tighter. "Just be safe, please." Letting go, she offered her friend another apologetic smile and once again looked inside the van. Then, she frowned.
Just Imagine:
I almost did not bring my journal with me this time. I am so glad I did! The dream I just had was... really weird.
So, I am in a massive tree. And I mean HUGE! It was at least ten times bigger than Goshinboku! Everywhere I turn I just see more branches. The leaves don't block out the light, but there are so many of them that I can't see more than a couple of feet in front of me. There is no trunk and I can't see any hint of the sky through the tangle of branches.
I try to climb. First, I made my way down, but I could not find the bottom. I went back up and to the side, thinking that I could get to the edge, but the canopy was endless. Right when I knew I was lost and was never going to be able to escape I felt it. Something was in the tree with me.
I did not see it, but I knew it was there. It was hunting me. So, I climbed faster. I went every direction and no direction and there was no end to it at all. The whole time, I hear a low, animal-like voice chanting. It is telling me to 'Leave... Leave... Leave' and I want to, but I can't find my way out.
