apologies if this sounds weird, but i don't understand how the Argentinian showcasing an ad being shown in Argentina is being sourced with Mexican news and tagged Mexican politics, unless it's exclusively about the single line clain that televisionenjoyer knows this happens in Mexico too?
Part of what makes the situation extra creepy is that it's a country that's nowhere near the US, where moving to that place is seen as tacky and undesirable, and there's a component worth investigating that i can't source that it may have to do with Milei's politics but i've only seen speculation backed with who Milei is as a president. Both of which are super specific to Argentina and not the US-perceived monolith monoculture of "Latino".
Ah yea I can see how that can come off wrong. Searching for news abou the ads in general got me the articles about the mexican gov planning to ban them, thus confirming their existence, and the screenshots in the article lined up with the video posted by op. Since I don't want to spend too much time on each seperate post I took that as the same ads being used and did not add any further sources.
The tags were an oversight, i usually take suggested tags and just hit queue, I've corrected and added a disclaimer.
Thanks for notifying me!
