Transparency is the only path to 1.5°C. At GreenCalculus, we believe that the integrity of a carbon inventory is only as strong as the architecture of the math behind it.
We are releasing the MasterBrain Visual Series: 9 high-fidelity blueprints deconstructing the most complex pillars of the GHG Protocol, SBTi, and IPCC AR6 frameworks. From the exponential decay logic of Near-Term Targets to the Tier 1 multipliers of AFOLU Nitrogen soil emissions, these models eliminate the "black box" of carbon accounting.
Built for architects, auditors, and sustainability leads who demand absolute mathematical provenance.
🖥️ Explore the Full Logic Suite: https://greencalculus.com/calculators/
The Collection Includes:
Scope 1: Stationary & Mobile Combustion Logic
Scope 1: Refrigerant GWP (AR5 vs AR6)
Scope 2: Dual-Reporting (Location vs Market)
Scope 3: Spend-Based Fallbacks & Air Travel Multipliers
Targets: SBTi 1.5°C Pathways & FLAG 20% Thresholds
AFOLU: N2O Synthesis & Soil Application Math
Technical Standards: MasterBrain® Database / IPCC 2019 Refinements / DEFRA 2025 / IEA Grid Factors.
Welcome to Micro Tools & Calculator Reviews
Single-purpose web tools are having a moment, and I don't think it's getting enough attention.
For a while it felt like every useful little calculator or converter had been swallowed by a fifteen-tab SaaS dashboard. The kind of site where you wanted to convert a unit or check a mortgage payment, and you got a sign-up wall, a tracking pixel, and an email opt-in instead. Plenty of people just gave up and used the closest spreadsheet.
The good news is the small, focused tool isn't dead. There's a whole quiet ecosystem of indie builders making one-purpose calculators that load in under a second, work offline, and don't ask for an email address. Some of them are charming. A few are genuinely well-designed. Most are free.
This blog is a place to talk about them honestly. The plan, roughly:
One tool reviewed each week — screenshot, what it does, what it's actually good for, where it falls down
Occasional roundups when a category has a clear winner (or three contenders worth knowing)
The odd opinion piece when something bugs me about the category — like why so many "free" tools quietly track keystrokes, or why a basic loan calculator shouldn't need an account
I'll cover personal-finance tools, productivity calculators, dev utilities, kitchen and cooking conversions, fitness and health math, all of it. If you build a niche tool and want it reviewed, send it. I won't promise a positive write-up but I will promise an honest one.
One place I've found a lot of these little tools collected together is evvytools.com, which has a directory worth poking through if you don't know where to start. There are others I'll get to.
More soon. If something here interests you, follow along — and if a particular kind of tool would be useful to compare, reply or send me the names.
