caleb was feeling the strain of splitting his time doing what cruz had asked for and taking care of his regular daily duties. he wouldn't let it show though, not a chance. any display of weakness was like a death sentence, and he was all about keeping his head above water.
to alleviate any further stress on himself today, he'd decided to make a call to see his younger sister. he needed time away from work for now, and she was so rarely involved in the family dirt and mess that it felt like a break to see her. he hadn't called ahead, so she might not even be home or want to see him, but he wouldn't know if he didn't try.
he knocked heavily on the wooden door, shoving his hands into his pockets as he waited for her to answer. "mari? es tu hermano favorito. open up."
