I have been hand drawing this moon phases calendar for 2022, including the Pagan holidays. A big part of me is not happy with 2021, which is because life stands still for over a year now and there is no end in sight.

1940s calendar poster by Hang Zhiying 摩托车 (1900-47) depicting a young woman riding a motorcycle. The Zhiying Studio was founded in 1923 and made advertisements, calendars, posters and trademark images. Artist involved included painters such as Hang Zhiying, Jin Xuecheng (1904-96), and Li Mubai (1913-91).

Description from The Telegraph: “Poster beauties often presented advertisements for cigarettes, as in this example. This beauty calendar also reflects the New Life Movement advocated by the Republic of China government from 1934 to 1949, which promoted education and the professionalisation of women. Song Meiling, the wife of Chiang Kai-shek, was the chair of the Women's Steering Committee. The aviation industry was a new emerging industry at the time, to which only the social elite had access. The image of the female pilot preparing for her flight reflects a significant change from Chinese traditional female depictions.”
