NORTH SPRING STREET

Cale One K2S

“I bought a copy of a spray-can art book, probably like in ‘87. It blew me away.... I just knew that’s what I wanted to do,” Cale One told Street Gospel TV. He did his first piece on New Year’s Eve in 1987 and says the work was horrible. Cale’s skills have have blossomed as he embraced virtually every creative tool from brush to paint roller to aerosol to computer illustration. He says he “studied the art of masters like Leonardo, Michelangelo and Tiepolo by repeatedly recreating their sketches and reading about their lives” and is driven by a mission “to keep the traditional skills of master craftsmen alive and thriving.” This piece, is on North Spring Street at the edge of Chinatown in Los Angeles, and is part of a collaboration with Ben Barnes, aka Yo Chubs. @cale_one_k2s
