Forever Stressed.
ughhhhh. So i finally got an email from the Cal Grants people and it has 2 schools listed that i dont even want to go to anymore!!! ): I've tried changing the schools and I cant. This is very frustrating.
Can I just fast forward to my graduation and then to my first day of college so i can stop worrying about this please. ugh.
I just checked my CalGrant status and guess what? I got zero fucking dollars! Thanks, California, thanks a lot!!! What a great idea it was for legislators to cut money from college education! Way to fucking encourage people to further their education. I don't even know how I'm going to get the money. I was so certain I was going to get it, considering my high GPA and low income, but nope! I have to find a way to make thousands of dollars by my poor and unskilled self. Yay. Fuck you, California.
Finally got my grant and scholarship money deposited into my account for this quarter ($1,600 extra a quarter, $5,000 extra for the entire year.... BOI!) haha
In spite of the fact that most of the money is need based rather than merit-based, I KNOW that my family and I have truly earned and deserve every last penny of this money.
These past few months have truly worn me out emotionally, often thinking about how difficult finances are and how difficult a position my parents are in.
I'm kinda just relfected and ranting in excitement and happiness that Im finally able to get back on this school grind, finish my undergrad here at UCR and still be able to give back to my parents to alleviate their load a little bit (a 50/50 split is fair...right ??)
Time to take care of business and focus on finishing this school biz so that, eventually, I am REALLY able to give back to my family and support them out of my own pocket.
By far though, this is the single greatest achievement/moment/ good FUCKING thing that has happened to me in recent memory.
Just gotta keep this in the back of my head as a reminder to keep pushing and make whatever is meant to happen...happen.
