[COMMISSION] Masquerade
A big illustration commission for @messedupessy - something I’ve been working for a while now. Three skeletons and a shady guy on a big masked ball, what can possibly go wrong?
It’s been a wild ride to do proper research and designs for all four main characters as well as adding the background (seriously, people back then were Very Extra with their ornaments).

A lovely commission for @messedupessy - her fantastic godlike explodey pirate Pass with Caliper... and the navy captain’s desk. This was yet again a fun thing to draw and the desks on the references I found were very cool! Doing all the stuff to look like wood and adding patterns on the scarves was also a neat thing.

Caliper Black - reference
Ahhh. I’ve finally had time and motivation to draw a full reference sheet for my Royal Navy Captain OC! This is a little part of the commission I’m doing for the wonderful @messedupessy as she wanted me to make a ref sheet for Caliper for a while now.
It took some time to figure out the layers for his clothes but now it’s done, with additional details like: - his glasses - his sword - his tongue (which is blue because I can) and eyes (light blue because blue)
I know he is sans-shaped but he’s not a Sans, I just have only 2 ways of drawing skeletons. He’s a standalone skeleton OC that I created to have fun with @seaswap crew. And to ship him with Pass, sue me.

Colored sketch commission for the one and only @messedupessy. She wanted to see her Seaswap Sans, Pass, taking a nap with his boyfriend Caliper. Smooch on the skull included! I love those two and I had fun figuring out the poses and placing as many pillows as possible around them (they stole it from Boney, of course). Yo ho and a bottle of ink! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh yesssss!!! The forbidden sea romance!!!
who’s the cuddler: Pass, of fucking course. He’s clingy every moment possible, always hugging, touching or even groping Caliper when together. The only moment when he doesn’t do that is when he’s working on his super dangerous shit or mans the helm (and Cali isn’t there with him).
who makes the bed: Caliper, because he’s a proper navy lad. And because Pass probably doesn’t even register the tousled sheets when he’s up and running in the morning. His mind is always on something else.
who wakes up first: Depends. Caliper always wakes up at the same hour, his morning routine stiff as the stick he has in his coccyx, but it’s Pass who is more all over the place. Probably it will depend on when the latter went to sleep.
who has the weird taste in music: Surprisingly, they share their taste in music quite closely. But it would be Pass who brings home (to the ship) some new catchy shanty or an obnoxious song.
who is more protective: They’re both quite protective of each other (to some reasonable degree, especially with their talent to get into trouble) but it’s the cold and relentless fury of the Royal Navy Captain that you don’t want to face, ever.
who sings in the shower: Pass! He’s the impulsive kind of guy who would sing in the shower, in the bath, during bed shenanigans, and at work. Caliper doesn’t sing… alone. He prefers to join in if there’s some singing happening.
who cries during movies: Caliper, though it happens rarely. Pass just… doesn’t? He’s weird like this, doesn’t seem to get down because of any story or movie.
who spends the most while out shopping: Pass is the big spender in this relationship. Mostly because he just likes having stuff and some of his experiments and explosives aren’t cheap to conduct or make. If Caliper buys something expensive, it’s usually either necessary, high quality or… just for Pass.
who kisses more roughly: Pass when sober, Caliper when drunk.
who is more dominate: Depends on the mood they both are. Sometimes it’s Pass, with being very hyper and excited and overall with too much energy. Sometimes it’s Caliper when he’s too stressed or anxious for whatever reason. It’s balanced.
my rating of the ship from 1-10: 10/10 because it’s my boy with the god amongst skeletons! Perfect ship. Sailing very much.
Their dynamic is so fun to explore because on the surface they seem to be on the opposite sides when it comes to personalities. One is a Royal Navy Captain, the other is a Pirate Captain, so come on. They can’t be further apart on this one. But… deep down they’re pretty much the same. Their core beliefs match almost perfectly, their love for danger and adventures is quite similar, they’re both extremely loyal to people they feel responsible for, and even more loyal and devoted to people they care about. Also, explosions!

For me, I’d say I’m demiromantic. I really need to bond with a person to imagine dating them or living with them... and I kinda am a dumb one at that. I don’t even let myself develop any feelings until I am sure the other person feels something for me. (dumb demiromantic? desperate demiromantic? thankfully, happily taken)
Caliper is homoromantic for the most part. I am certain he would be able to fall in love with somebody who isn’t his gender but he is attracted to his own the most. This said... he’s also very careful with whom he falls in love with.
