Action needed: Stop this racist from becoming Attorney General
Here’s the text of an email I got from Demand Progress:
Senate Republicans are trying to ram through Jeff Sessions' nomination for Attorney General by cutting his hearings short and only allowing Democrats to call four witnesses.
And Sessions hasn’t even submitted a completed questionnaire to the committee that will question his fitness to be Attorney General – a move he once said was a felony.2
We need to stop this Republican power play and kill Sessions’ nomination for good.

Jeff Sessions is a man who’s spent his whole career undermining civil rights, voting rights, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, immigration, criminal justice reform and hate crime laws — all of which would be under his purview as Attorney General.
He’s a man who the Republican Senate rejected for a federal judgeship in 1986 because of his anti-voting rights activism and racist comments, including jokingly approving of the Ku Klux Klan.
And he's a man who defended Donald Trump’s recorded bragging about grabbing women by their genitals by saying, “I don't characterize that as sexual assault."
His views didn’t represent American values then and they sure as hell don’t now. But only a grassroots outcry has a chance of stopping the Senate from ramming through this dangerous man to become America’s top law enforcement officer.
