I’ve been putting just about my whole life on social media for awhile now. Good and bad, in this digital age it helps me remember and reflect. Some folks have labeled me a drama queen and some have told me I’m brave and transparent. I used to be a very spiteful person and I worked hard to get away from that, but I’m still definitely reactionary. Social media gives everyone a voice and sometimes if someone hurts you the only power you have is to share that. If you hurt me or screw me over in some way, I’m telling everyone. I don’t care what folks think about it, venting helps me process. The phrase “airing dirty laundry” is just a way for people to erase victimization and downplay their role in abusing folks. I don’t think it makes you a drama queen to share your story. If someone hurts you, abuses you, fucks-you-over in some way, tell everyone. Make social media posts. Call. Them. Out. Accountability is a bitch. I fully expect the same to happen to me, if I’ve hurt you in some way (calling out your wrong actions on social media doesn’t count) feel free to shout it from the hilltops. I like to be held accountable, it’s how I learn, grow, and become a better person. I hope you enjoy these pictures of me enjoying my new apt.
