The goal of trauma healing is to give victims a feeling that they have control over their lives again. There are 3 stages of the healing process - safety, acknowledgement, and reconnection. Women are humiliated feeling that they could do nothing to stop the violence. Children face difficult trauma. They lack the emotional development and life experience to make sense of the trauma, even more than adults. Children are susceptible to picking up attitudes from adults in their lives, providing the opportunity for trauma to be transmitted across generations. The criminal who organised the crime against me [I was saved from] was a child of forced marriage conceived, born and raised in violence, crime became his way of earning and living. He is physically and mentally incapable of anything other than crimes. It's his innate capacity, genetic deformity caused by hereditary disorders. That's why it's important to focus on children in the healing process. Trauma healing can have adverse effects of listeners, helping victims recover through exposure to stories by being present in the environment that gave rise to the original victims' trauma.
