"So...” Alek trailed off with a small shrug. “I’m just glad I could finish my grade twelve without having any of the other distractions of being here.” Alek concluded, just wrapping up a more detailed discussion of why she got lured home by her parents — minus the parts that involved Ian or the Kims or Alek’s entire family trying to lure her into anything more than just a couple business arrangements. “What about you though?” She said, redirecting the conversation to Calliope; feeling like she had been talking the girl’s ear off since convincing Callie to sit with her while she unpacked. “How are you and James since prom?”

Stepping to the passenger’s side of his car, Jack placed a hand on the handle, about to open it before turning back to face the girl.  Lifting his fingertips to the top of the vehicle, he tapped the hood anxiously a few times. “ Yeah, sorry about that... ”  he began. “ When my mom said a couple pictures, I--- well, I can’t say I didn’t know she meant like, a hundred, but I had hope. ”
