"Why won't you look at me?"
Washington held a denying statement on his tongue, but when he couldn’t bring himself to glance in her direction, he bit it back. He really couldn’t look at her, could he? Wash sighed and shook his head, reaching up to pinch at the bridge of his nose.
"Connie…" he started slowly, his words weighted and heavy on his tongue. It’d been a few days since Connie and her men found rescued them from the still unnamed planet they’d been stranded on. He’d thought that looking at her would be easier by now, that he would’ve gotten used to seeing his best friend’s face, but it just…. wasn’t. It was still difficult and Wash hated the upset feelings that floated up whenever he looked in Connie’s direction.
"You know you look exactly the same, right?" Wash started, testing the waters almost. He leaned forward in his seat, elbows digging into his knees. His tired eyes bore holes into the floor. "You look just like you did before you disappeared, like you haven’t aged at all and it’s hard as Hell. Things are so different now and looking at you is like… it’s like being back then."
Wash stole a glance in the other’s direction, blinking slowly as he sat up straight, soon looking away. “It’s unsettling. I’m happy you’re back, that you’re safe - don’t get that wrong, but I’ve spent years thinking you were dead, Connie. Suddenly having you back, and like this, too, it’s a lot.”

[Text] Ouch.

◮☁◭ "Apologies, but have you seen a blue armored soldier running away from a tank?" the male asked in a rather deep voice. He was armed with a DRM and his highlights displayed he wasn't an average soldier. Given the others walking about sported green.

"They say we can love who we trust/but what is love without lust?"
[Underwear thing] The young woman gently knocked on Wash's door after a night of fooling around in her room for a change, a bit of a smirk on her face. As Wash finally opened the door, the grin grew wider across her face. "Uh, Wash? Think you left something behind in my room." Connie pulled out a pair of her boyfriend's boxers from her pajama bottom's pocket, grinning pretty proudly to herself.
"Oh my god-" Washington’s face turned red, and he reached to snatch the boxers back. "Oh jeez— thanks-"

call-me-ct replied to your post: "Do not /even/ start, York. If you lay a single finger on Theta, you're going to regret it."
"Then don’t even mention it. Saying "I don’t want to hit a kid" isn’t something someone just says for no reason, asshole."
"Theta needs to know when to back down, Connie."
