so   .   .   .   i   mentioned   about   two   weeks   ago   that   i   was   going   on   a   holiday   with   my   family.   and   what   a   holiday   it   was.   my   children's   first   time   in   an   airport,   airplane,   sleeping   in   beds   that   are   not   their   own   —   –   and   they   were   SO   AMAZING.   some   whining   to   be   expected,   but   no   melt   downs,   no   sobbing   and   upsetting   surrounding   passengers.   just   snacks,   app matching   games,   and   in   flight   entertainment. 

we   did   some   fun   activities   like   visiting   the   children's   museum,   going   to   the   nasa   space   centre,   eating   at   different   restaurant   chains   that   we   don't   have   home   in   canada,   and   experiencing   an   aquarium   because   apparently   the   province   we   live   in   is   Lame   as   Hell   for   not   having   more   than   goldfish   tanks   at   pet   smart.   &   yes,   i   went   on   this   vacation   to   bond   with   my   family,   to   have   some   new   experiences   .   .   .   but   nothing   could   prepare   me   for   the   fulfillment,   utter   joy   and   heartbreak   of   meeting   my   best   friend   in   person.

from   the   minute   @callmeteor   stepped   out   of   their   car,   to   me   running   across   the   street   (not   looking   both   ways,   bad   mama   ari)   and   hugging   my   best   friend   for   the   first   time,   that   is   an   experience   i   will   remember   for   the   rest   of   my   life.   AND   I   ONLY   CRIED   A   LITTLE   !!   i   fully   expected   to   sob,   fully   expected   to   not   be   able   to   take   pictures   because   i   cried   my   eyeliner   off   .   .   .   but   instead,   took   so   many   pictures   with   aster   as   we   got   to   actually   be   in   each other's   physical   company.

on  the  left,  is  my  lily  tattoo  with  aerith's  hand  holding  the  floret  .  .  .  and  on  the  right,  is  aster's  lily  with  the  save  symbol.  ಥ◡ಥ  i  haven't  had  the  opportunity  (or  extra  finances)  to  get  a  tattoo,  so  getting  this  lily  on  the  same  arm  as  my  parent's  cursive,  now  just  gives  me  so  much  to  smile  about.  my  best  friend,  my  parents,  my  little  moon  .  .  .  IM  EMOTIONAL.

the  long  and  short  of  this  post  is:  thank  you  to  the  people  in  my  life,  were  apart  of  my  life,  and  everyone  in  between  who  introduced  aster  to  me.  thank  you  to  aster  who  not  only  drove  down  to  where  me  +  my  family  were  vacationing  so  we  could  spend  a  few  days  together,  but  also  drove  us  places  as  i  was  PETRIFIED  TO  DRIVE  ON  HIGHWAYS  WHERE  THERE  IS  FIVE  LANES  OF  TRAFFIC  ????  insane  that  you  can  do  that,  btw.  my  canadian  two  maybe  three  lane  ass  could  never. i  say  best  friend  so  many  times  when  referring  to  @callmeteor  because  they  have  shown  me  how  incredible  it  is  to  have  a  best  friend.  how  rewarding  life  is  to  have  someone  you  feel  so  close  and  safe  with,  and  what  makes  saying  goodbye  to  someone  so  special  so  hard.  even  when  you  know  the  goodbye  is  only  physically,  not  indefinitely. 

thank  you  for  making  my  2025,  trip  to  houston.  from  memories  with  my  girlies,  with  my  hubby,  my  MIL  .  .  .  and  my  best  friend.

a troubled mind echoes on a troubled face. soft timbre of emotions resonates within her countenance. her frown : mild. feminine hand softly rest above your slumbering form. your body bruised, marred, and slowly recovering from recent spectral encounters. the danger has long since passed, but still you refused to awaken. ❝ you shouldn't have followed me, ❞ sharp tone soon snaps from celestial tongue, her expression threading on the balance of greatest concern and sheer vexation. annoyed that you refused her request / angry that you had became a casualty by taking damage that was intended for her. a purification ritual that had gone completely wrong —— and the guilt continues to eat at her chest.

you shouldn't have saved her, but you did. you didn't have to come to her, but you came. the reason why she is able to sit besides you, with barely any scratches on her was because of you. she holds onto you in the form of a prayer. palms clings onto your own, to the point where she is reaching after your pulse. your hand is warm, and your chest rises up from idle breathes. you are just unconscious, she reminds herself over and over again. unconscious because of her, she scolds herself again. she needs to practice patience, she knows that, and yet : she feels hopeless all the same.

she will treat you better, she promises in silence. less teasing. less errands. less playing around. just wake up. you stir in that moment, and she squeezes your hand again. ❝ cloud ? ❞ stella's voice draws you in, as she watches with renewed interest as your eyes finally open again. what a lovely shade of blue, she had always been familiar with your eyes, and yet to see them open once more brought out a sense of infatuation. ❝ — your awake ! ❞ she wasted no time pulling you into an embrace, her body practically landing on your own, and without any real thought she presses her lips onto your cheek. or rather, what should have been your cheek. your startled expression was enough for reality to draw upon her that it was your lips that now existed against her own.

silence sets forth, followed by bated breath. she has heard the expression that blood rushes down one's face, and for the first time in her life : she finally understood how. flustered cheeks enters her typically healthy complexion, and she stays frozen in place. dizziness sets in, and she mulls over the fact that this might truly be her first kiss --- and accident at that. releasing you from her grasp, she immediately shys away. ❝ i mean... uhm... yes, you're awake... i'm.... sorry ? ❞ she couldn't even look at you, how could she when she made herself out to be the fool. you had a crush too, she remember one of their past banters, and she selfishly broke another one of your boundaries. ❝ no, i am, i am really really sorry cloud. not just for that, but for the injuries too. ❞ please don't look at her right now.

"You’re distracting me, you know."

❛    hm? i don't know what you mean.    ❜ innocent tone aside [ not that it was doing anything ] kira knows what she's doing. even if she plays coy and pretends that she was just standing there, every movement the witch makes has always been intentional. if any of the shepherds would confront her on distracting the swordsman, she would simply deny it, for they were far enough to not be able to see them. whether she wanted to actually gain something from this, or she just wanted to make things difficult for cloud, kira does not offer him the kindness of clarifying. instead, she continues as she is, reading her tome atop a fallen log, where she knows he can see her as he trained. what feigned innocence she fails to conjure is shattered every time she allows a tendril of violet light to slip away from her to teasingly flick at the back of his ear, or a gust of wind to brush against his nape. little things, meant to catch him by surprise, and more importantly, remind him that she was still there.

❛    perhaps you should be distracted.    ❜ she said, tilting her head to look at cloud, drawing an almost bored expression onto her visage. ❛    because i have been waiting for the better half of the dawn, and you have not even given me a glance. is your sword more interesting than i am? will your sword keep you company when we leave tomorrow? will it stop you from tripping on another rock in plain sight?  ❜

[ TXT ] : why are you still awake?

the notification pops up in the middle of some forgettable and meaningless video, and he clicks on with little thought. oh, he left his status on. well . . . that was kind of embarrassing. at least it was only @callmeteor, someone with arguably even worse of a sleep schedule than him. he taps out his reply, a yawn fluttering past his lips a moment latter.

❛ Hold on, Cloud, ❜ the warrior demands, pressing firmly against the devastating wound. ❛ You will not die here. Not if I can help it. ❜ Fate in the shape of a bullet passed through the SOLDIER's abdomen. Upon witnessing his companion fall, Clive roared; a demons fury incinerating their enemies in a veil of flame, before rushing to the fallen's side.

Initially frantic, a single hand rummaged through his belongs for bandages, disinfectant, stitching needles; the very gear he had used on himself several times before. As he searched, a twinkle caught his eye; a tiny emerald orb embraced by the metal of Cloud's Buster Sword. It seemingly urges for his attention, eager to defy the hands of death that cling at the prone SOLDIER. He swiftly answers its call, plucking the magical orb from its socket. Feeling the touch of the warrior, the tiny orb shimmered with anticipation. As though knowing exactly what he wanted, a verdant glow began to gradually sew the wound back together. After a short time, the veil of healing halts. While the wound continued to rage, the bleeding had been subdued for now.

❛ That should hold you until we can get you back to the others, ❜ says Clive, before plucking Cloud from the ground and carefully situating him over his shoulder. ❛ We must make haste. ❜

'can  you  use  any  other  weapon  besides  that  behemoth  of  a  thing  y'call  a  sword?'  he  has  another  weapon  tucked  away  besides  his  spear,  two  daggers  tucked  into  his  boots.  is  he  as  good  as  the  brat?  not  in  his  lifetime,  but  enough  to  survive  without  his  beloved  venus  gospel.

PROMPTS FROM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ( Still Accepting! )

There was no stopping the sigh that escaped the confines of the Warrior's chest, the knight taking a moment to close his eyes and collect his thoughts.

He had just finished apologizing on behalf of his comrade after a customer who had hired Cloud was quite displeased at the blonde swordsman's lack of manners, it had gotten to the point where Cloud had ended up calling Light asking for support -- the knight had initially thought it was something to do with the crystals and the like but he was sorely mistaken. When he had arrived, Cloud told him to pretend that he was his 'agent' , as the client wanted to talk to a supposed 'higher up'.

While Cloud's client ironically didn't have the best manners either, the Warrior nonetheless managed to calm them down and had even procured Cloud's promised payment, which the client was originally going to withhold.

Holding the envelope of Cloud's earnings, now the Warrior would be the one to withhold it -- pulling his hand away just some when the swordsman reached for it.

"Cloud, you must understand that we are guest to this plane --" he doesn't mean to lecture, far from it, for he knows his comrades are grown people and are more than capable of minding themselves most of the time.

However, as their leader, he cannot offer them leeway, even for something as trivial as a upset client.

"We must remain diligent and set to be exemplary and courteous to the denizens of this world, even if they do not offer us that same courtesy." while he won't blame any of them for defending themselves, unfortunately, the cultural norms of this world are different from any of theirs, from food and music, all the way to manners -- they must respect it all the same.

He finally hands the envelope to Cloud--

"Do not let this happen again."

𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. you want most the very things that you cannot have, that are not there for your taking. most children learn this, and it makes them better adjusted adults. some do not. what happens when an appetite is whetted at every turn? he sits at the bar now, manicured nail picking at the edge of his glass, beaded with condensation. its contents are mostly drained, a colorless fluid swirling languidly at the very bottom. rufus’s stomach is bottomless. no amount of consumption can truly make him feel whole. flat eyes rake over the back of the bar, mesmerized, maybe, by the way light plays off the narrow necks of bottles in their tight little rows; arcs of fluorescence in browns and blues and even greens, dark and luminous, glowing until they turn to a babble of molecules with no clear form or meaning that hypnotize the heir. maybe he’s just drunk, and insatiable.

he’s not expecting a familiar voice beside his right ear, or the face peering down at him when he snaps to attention. recognition flickers over the surface of pale blue eyes, so washed - out when held up to ones such as these, which glow in the socket. he is powerful, yes, beyond comprehension — but he is no clairvoyant. there had been no reports of the errant company property slinking back to junon. cloud is armed, he notes, but if he wanted to kill him, wouldn’t he have done it already? this is about something else entirely. when rufus smiles, it’s as though two fingers are holding up the corners of his mouth, because he doesn’t have the correct muscles to articulate a proper one on his own. “ isn’t that my line? ” if there is humor in his tone, it’s mean - spirited. his jokes always fall flat.

a quick survey of the smoky interior confirms his suspicions; there is no trace of the dark - haired woman, or his father’s other stray, the one who preoccupies entirely too much of the turks’ time, or even the one - armed man. fine - haired eyebrows quirk, his gaze returning cloud’s own, which is thick with enmity. ‘ just lovely, ’ he thinks,  soaking it in, that poison. it seems to him that cloud hates him, really hates him, which might not be as good as fear, but it does the trick for tonight. absolutes are quicksilver. rufus shifts his weight in his seat, an elbow propping up on the bar top to cradle his chin in a gloved palm. “ rare to catch you without your little entourage.  did you want to see me that badly? ” a cat bats the mouse between two paws, but not out of interest of removing the head. he almost sounds tired. “ all you had to do was ask. ” hunger stirs to life under his dull, corpse - like flesh. god, he needs a cigarette, or something just as good to stave it off.
