i am pretty disappointed, not gonna lie! from what the trailer shows, the movie really looks like a cash grab, bc i feel like it's not staying true to what made the previous movies (esp the first two) so effective. where are the furious five?? what's going on with tigress and po's relationship that transformed so much in kfp1 and kfp2 (and to some extent in kfp3)?? why doesn't that seem to be a core of this film the way it was so crucial to the others?? where are po's dads?? why does po and shifu's relationship feel gimmicky instead of meaningful?? i love po, but the continuity of the supporting cast with the gradual addition of more characters (all of whom had connection and meaning to po) helped maintain a flow through the first three films that this movie appears to be breaking hard from. like, there were hardly any familiar characters are in the trailer and in this case, i think that's a disservice rather than a mark of growth for this world. but hey! maybe the movie will surprise me!

The way exclus always bend over backwards to prove compulsory sexuality doesn't exist, you can tell they're insecure about admitting they have any form of privilege. (And for the record, they shouldn't have a say in whether compulsory sexuality exists. It is real and we are harmed by it and they are not.)

All of them are academic level queer theory. The idea stems from compulsory heterosexuality which does effect everyone, and compulsory sexuality while it often has a strong ace focus, it’s second main usage that I’ve read about seems to be pointing out the unfair demands on lesbian sexual behavior. Asexual Erotics has a chapter on why the lesbian death bed stereotype exists and harms. So random bigots on the internet going into the senseless rage because they see an ace casually discussing their experiences dealing with compulsory sexuality and trying to say it isn’t real at all, well, it holds literally everyone in the rainbow community back from liberation. 

People in a way fear, being told they have some privilege because as a society we exist way too much on a binary. So people think if you have privilege that means your pain for whatever intersectional reason that may exist won’t be heard. And it absolutely is a frame of mind that as a society we should work to view differently. For ourselves, as when viewing others. Instead of a binary privilege on/off mental toggle, we’d all be better served if we viewed it like a deck of cards. Or maybe even a tarot deck since there’d less of a tiered value there. Each suit has different meanings. And the meaning of two tens will often intersect. Each card, each person, each iteration of different art style is going to have their own nuances that can be brought out by understanding on an intersectional level.
