You will always regret me :)
Guard up. Heartless. Cold soul.
I am fucking raging
Bab al-Shams
I know this news is already a couple of weeks old, but it's been bothering me a lot, especially in the description of its events by the BBC as a "relatively peaceful" eviction.
In short, no one was killed, but the event was and is built on a system of violent colonialism. And how horrific that when villagers are outnumbered by police 2 to 1, then use numbers and dangerous force to evict those who have already been displaced it is described as "relatively peaceful." It is an act of aggression and should be known as such.
The response by the standard internet commenter is also unsettling, though I know I shouldn't let it upset me. The worst cases are those who justify the "eviction" by its "legality" in the Israeli Supreme Court. This is a classic form of Colonialism that employs language and fabricated systems to legitimize itself.
Choice is a radical act for many and, for some, living is the same.
Belated Resolution.
Stop lying where totally unnecessary.
Let's all try it.
