Volo has a terrible horrible no good very bad day in chapter 3 while stuck outside Jubilife due to the Rapidash moving its herd further west and its heightened aggression to anyone going in or out of Jubilife. He tries to buy time while they run but a Pokeball only pisses it off.

Thankfully Haru was already in the area to capture the Rapidash.
